Driving the wheel from the bottom allows the upper panel of the wheel to be used as a disperser, thus, allowing very good dispersion of the material that is fed. • A series of constructive and aerodynamic measures is employed to prevent the fine product fraction it contains from skipping the separation zone and a perfectly efficient grain size classification is realized in d97:10-200µm grain size range. It makes it possible to work with efficiencies at 85% and higher, particularly in the plaster sector, thus, the hardening time of the gypsum plaster can be ensured without using any chemicals. In the separator • air resistances that may occur are minimized while separation air both enters the separator and leaves the separator, by using a scroll type body. • Dynamic resistance increase is minimized at increased wheel revolution speeds with the special form of the wheel fins. • Flow rate decrease is minimized thanks to the minimized static and dynamic resistances and both the capacity is increased and the energy consumed for separation is minimized. Fugitive-free product: The risk of fugitive large grains escaping from between the rotating wheel and exhaust flange is eliminated by blowing air to this gap from the holes located between the separator wheel and product output scroll. Fineness setting: The grain fineness setting and revolution speed of separator wheels is set by a frequency converter. Modular structure: Two different types of separator wheels and two separate types of system fans are used according to the fineness of the product being processed. For sorting between 0-40µm a long blade turbo wheel is used, while a short blade turbo wheel is used for sorting between 40-200µm. The separator can operate in open or closed cycles. The air trap (rotary valve) is installed at both the separator input and separator output when the operation is carried out in open cycle. The air trap is not installed at the separator input when there is a closed cycle operation to ensure that air quantity equal to the air flow rate transferred to the filter can be sucked from the separator input. Otherwise, the air which is circulated in the cycle reduces dramatically, causing the separation to stop. In the closed cycle, the air temperature rises up to 60°C. Thus, it is made possible to sort slightly humid products effectively without using an additional heating system. Specifications pertaining to other equipment in the system when in closed and open cycle operations are provided in the following table. Wear: For the separation of abrasive products, rotating parts are plated with alumina and stationery parts are plated with Vulkollan.
